Neutron Depolarization in Superconductors
The dependences of neutron depolarization on applied magnetic field are deduced along trie magnetization hysteresis loop in terms of the Beau mortel of the critical state. The depolarization in uniaxial superconductors with the reversible magnetization, mcluding uniaxial magnetic superconductors,is also considered. A strong depolarization is expected ifthe neutrons travel along the vortex fines.
متن کاملFast Neutron Irradiated Magnetite and Haematite Investigated by Neutron Diffraction
In this paper, we present new experimental results about crystallographic and magnetic properties obtained on magnetite Fe,04 and haematite a-FqO, samples irradiated by fast neutrons. Polycrystalline rods were irradiated at 350K by fast neutrons inside the core of Melusine nuclear reactor (CENG) in Grenoble at various fluences (4 lO", 9.2 1019 and 20 10'' neutronslcm~). The irradiated samples h...
متن کاملLiquid domains in vesicles investigated by NMR and fluorescence microscopy.
We use (2)H-NMR, (1)H-MAS NMR, and fluorescence microscopy to detect immiscibility in three particular phospholipid ratios mixed with 30% cholesterol: 2:1 DOPC/DPPC, 1:1 DOPC/DPPC, and 1:2 DOPC/DPPC. Large-scale (>>160 nm) phase separation into liquid-ordered (L(o)) and liquid-crystalline (L(alpha)) phases is observed by both NMR and fluorescence microscopy. By fitting superimposed (2)H-NMR spe...
متن کاملStress-induced martensitic transformations in NiTi and NiTi–TiC composites investigated by neutron diffraction
Superelastic NiTi (51.0 at.% Ni) specimens reinforced with 0, 10 and 20 vol.% TiC particles were deformed under uniaxial compression while neutron diffraction spectra were collected. The experiments yielded in-situ measurements of the thermoelastic stress-induced transformation. The evolution of austenite/martensite phase fractions and of elastic strains in the reinforcing TiC particles and the...
متن کاملInterphase effects in dental nanocomposites investigated by small-angle neutron scattering.
Small-angle and ultrasmall-angle neutron scattering (SANS and USANS) were used to characterize silica nanoparticle dispersion morphologies and the interphase in thermoset dimethacrylate polymer nanocomposites. Silica nanoparticle fillers were silanized with varying mass ratios of 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MPTMS), a silane that interacts with the matrix through covalent and H-bonding...
